Disaster Recovery City of Beaumont

In the wake of the disastrous Hurricane Ike in 2008 the City of Beaumont sought to rebuild and defend against future cataclysmic events. 

CLIENT CHALLENGES
  • Faced with the challenge to identify, prioritize and fund major recovery projects, the City entrusted Public Management Inc. to handle the task.
OUR Solutions
  • Working closely with the City, we advised on state and federal regulations to develop effective programs, incorporated results-oriented projects, and managed timelines through construction for over $321 million in disaster recovery funding.

  • The City of Beaumont and its citizens now enjoy a healthier, more resilient environment prepared for future potential disasters.

Economic Development City of Terrell

The City of Terrell is currently working on Phase 2 of their improved downtown infrastructure project. PMI assisted the City with submitting the Downtown Revitalization Project application which consists of installing approximately 1,525 l.f. of concrete sidewalk, 26 ADA compliant ramps, lighting,and pavement repair.  Public Management, Inc. also successfully assisted the City with applying for and completing Phase 1 which consisted of 263 s.y. of sidewalk improvements, crosswalk pavement repair, concrete curb & gutter installation, 11 ADA compliant ramps, and parking striping.

Water System Improvements City of Eden

The City of Eden is a small town in West Texas with a population of about 2,200 people. PMI assisted the City with submitting a TxCDBG Application for $275,000 for water improvements on Ballard St., Duke St., Burleson St., and Forest St. The City installed approximately three thousand two hundred seventy linear feet (3,270 l.f.) of eight-inch (8”) water line, valves, fire hydrants, pavement repair, and reconnections.

Comprehensive Planning City of Grandview

The City of Grandview is situated in southern Johnson County with a population of about 1,821. Public Management assisted the City in 2016 with a TxCDBG Planning and Capacity Building Grant project. With the City’s close proximity to the DFW Metroplex, and location along the I35 corridor, it has become a major hub for potential development.

CLIENT CHALLENGES
  • Create a long-term plan that addresses current and future development needs. Develop a plan for infrastructure improvements to support a large influx of potential residents.
OUR Solutions
  • Since completing the TxCDBG planning project in 2016, PMI has assisted the City with applying for, and managing, a number of other TxCDBG projects that were addressed in the comprehensive plan.
The Results
  • The City has been able to address multiple key infrastructure improvements to prepare for large residential developments that are expected in the next 5-10 years.

Water Development Board City of Stephenville

  • The City of Stephenville, est. population 21,000, located in Central North Texas, home to growing Tarleton State University. PMI assisted the City with the application for funding in the amount of $17,030,000 for a new lift station and sewer transmission line through the east side of town, known as the Eastside Sewer Lift Project. 
CLIENT CHALLENGES
  • Due to the growth of the college and general residency, the infrastructure capacity is in need of expansion. The project is separated into several phases.
  • The first phase was to construct a lift station at the wastewater treatment plant (WWTP).
  • Then, install a new sewer trunkline from the WWTP to a load transfer point that would transfer approximately 30% of existing City’s flow, new segments of collector lines along the eastside of the City, and a non-potable reuse line for irrigation service and process water for potential commercial and industrial use.
OUR Solutions
  • PMI worked diligently with residents and business owners to discuss options and the benefits of the project.
  • Working closely with the City, engineers and city residents we were able to map the new line and provide environmental land/easement acquisition to bring the sewer trunkline phase of the project into fruition.
  • Project consists of environmental, land/easement acquisition, project management, procurement engineering and construction throughout the various phases.
The Results
  • The Lift Station went under construction and has now since been completed and moving into the next stages of the project.
