American Rescue Plan Act of 2021

The American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 announced funding would be provided to communities who register to participate. The Coronavirus Local Recovery Fund (CLFRF) provides emergency funding for eligible local governments. The U.S. Treasury manages the distribution of these funds to Texas counties and cities with populations above 50,000. Cities, villages, towns and townships serving populations of less than 50,000 are non-entitlement units of local government (NEUs) and will receive funding distributed by TDEM. Funding allocations are formulated based on the population of the servicing city.

If the city would like to participate, they must login to their Grant Management System and request participation by Aug 2, 2021. Funds will be distributed in two tranches, one in August or September 2021 and the second tranche following a year later. Each tranche will be half of the total allocated amount.
